Students Inexplicably Forget About Lodge During Room Draw

Much to everybody’s surprise, room draw ended with housing still available in the Lodge. Generally considered to be a top-tier housing option, the large, full-bathed suites of the Lodge were overlooked in favor of the Fayerweathers or Mass Row.

But don’t expect this oversight to last long.

Upperclassmen are shocked that rising sophomores forgot this housing gem. “I remember last year I had the 53rd pick of my class and prayed for a Lodge room,” said Justin Armstrong ’13. He currently lives in Lodge 27. “I’m moving to Hitchcock next year. Do you have any idea how far that is from Jewel of India? Fuck me.”

Armstrong claims he would have moved back into the Lodge but believes ‘14s deserve a chance. “Although they don’t seem to appreciate the opportunity. I might fill out one of those room switch forms” (available on bannerstudent now).

ORL predicts that housing in the Lodge will fill up fast. “I suspect there will be a rush of ‘14s leaving their shitty two room doubles in Mid-Fay or Richardson for the leftover Lodge rooms,” said ORL director, Rosie Reed, in an official statement. “This kind of opportunity doesn’t come around too often.”

“When I was picking rooms as a freshman, people did their research,” said Howard Johnson ’11. “We knew the Lodge had a great view of the back of the Hop. We knew we had our own shower. We knew that my pet spider, Sammy, would have plenty of friends.”

The Lodge is also perfect for students who wanted to go abroad but couldn’t because of D-plans or a fear of vaccines. It’s about as far from campus as Europe and it has striking similarities to a sketchy old hostel. Also, like in other countries, drinking is pretty much legal since H-Po and S&S have no fucking idea who has jurisdiction.

The class of 2014 may have shit the bed during draw but they can redeem themselves through the room change process. Those with rooms elsewhere can still fill out a formal request to switch in.

We know, what WERE you thinking when you picked that 300 sq. ft. two room double with a full bath in Mid-Mass? Yeah of course you can switch into the Lodge. Leave your old room to a couple of saps on the waiting list. Those suckers.
